DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, 23 May from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. \nIn 2000 God gave Graham Power a vision of bringing Christians together for a day of repentance and prayer in Cape Town\, South Africa. This modern prayer movement spread across Africa the next five years and then across the entire globe. Now millions of Christians all over the world gather to pray for the nations each Pentecost Sunday. And a number of other global prayer initiatives have sprung from this. \nSince 2007 in Ottawa we have gathered in various churches for the Global Day of Prayer and encouraged you to use The Prayer for the World in your Pentecost worship. \nThen in 2013 God opened the way for us to join in worship on Parliament Hill in prayer for the nations in many languages. \nThis year\, we are excited about what God has in store for us as we gather again on Parliament Hill on Saturday\, 23 May from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 pm. \nI’m sure your people are praying for the Lord to send labourers into the harvest amidst the many conflicts in our world. Our trainers have experience running these kind of efforts and can share what are the best approaches to recruiting volunteers\, reaching your target audience and the practicalities of dealing with every conceivable challenge. \nYou will have the opportunity to ask questions and brainstorm with team leaders from other churches. Participants will leave the evening with a written manual outlining a full plan to help your congregation have a wonderful Big Give.

SUMMARY:Book Lover's Fundraiser for Love Ottawa
DESCRIPTION:We kept getting asked\, “Are you going to do it again in 2015?” The answer is an overwhelming “YES!” Last year we had over 3000 books donated. People have already started dropping off boxes of quality books in January for this year’s effort. \nWe do need your help again. Do you have a box or two of books sitting in your garage or basement? If you knew they could find a good home would you be willing to donate them? \nThe “Book-Lover’s” fundraiser is booked for the weekend after Easter. The hours will be 9 – 5 on Friday Apr. 10 and 9 – 3 on Saturday Apr. 11. Our board room at the One Way Ministries offices (89 Auriga Dr. near The Met) will be full of used Christian books. Hardcovers will sell for $2 and softcovers for $1. If you donate a valuable book we will price it a little higher and put it in our special book area. \nDo your spouse a favour and donate a box of your old books. We will even come and pick them up. Note: We are only looking for Christian books. Not old cassettes\, VHS videos\, 8-Tracks\, or vinyl.
