Global Day of Prayer
May 23, 2015 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Saturday, 23 May from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
In 2000 God gave Graham Power a vision of bringing Christians together for a day of repentance and prayer in Cape Town, South Africa. This modern prayer movement spread across Africa the next five years and then across the entire globe. Now millions of Christians all over the world gather to pray for the nations each Pentecost Sunday. And a number of other global prayer initiatives have sprung from this.
Since 2007 in Ottawa we have gathered in various churches for the Global Day of Prayer and encouraged you to use The Prayer for the World in your Pentecost worship.
Then in 2013 God opened the way for us to join in worship on Parliament Hill in prayer for the nations in many languages.
This year, we are excited about what God has in store for us as we gather again on Parliament Hill on Saturday, 23 May from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 pm.
I’m sure your people are praying for the Lord to send labourers into the harvest amidst the many conflicts in our world. But, since this is an opportunity to gather in unity, we would like to invite you and your congregations to join us on Parliament Hill as we worship the Lord of the nations and pray in many languages:
“THAT THE EARTH WILL BE FILLED WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE GLORY OF THE LORD AS THE WATERS COVER THE SEA.” (Habakkuk 2: 14)
